Munster Schools
The School Town of Munster is a suburban medical community located near Purdue University Calumet. Comprised of one high school, one middle school (grades 6-8) and three elementary schools (grades K-5), the enrollment is 4100 students. STM is one of the original ten school corporations in the state of Indiana to receive District Accreditation from AdvancED. Our school district is proud of its nationally recognized academic programs and teams.
Our high school, in a partnership with Purdue University and Ivy Tech, offers 28 dual credit courses as well as an extensive AP and honors curriculum. In 2010 through 2013 Munster High School made Newsweek’s list of the best high schools in the country. Both the middle and high school are Blue Ribbon schools with gifted programs in the performing and visual arts; the high school also has a nationally recognized Speech and Debate team, Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS), and We the People team. There is an extensive athletic program at the secondary level. At the elementary level there is a before and after school care program called the Adventure Club. All elementary schools have full day kindergartens.

http://mhs.munster.us/ Grades: 9 - 12 Munster High School boasts a strong academic program with 15 Advanced Placement courses and 28 dual credit courses. During the 2011-12 school year, MHS administered 603 Advanced Placement Exams with 75% of the students receiving a score of 3 or higher, which is the standard for college credit with most universities. We have been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best high schools in the United States. We have also ranked in Newsweek’s America’s Best Schools and the Washington Post High School Challenge Recognition. MHS recently received a grade of “A” from the Indiana Department of Education. Along with our strong tradition of academic excellence, MHS offers outstanding extra-curricular activities. Numerous academic and curricular clubs are available for the far-reaching interests of our student population. Three of our most successful programs are the state champion Speech and Debate, We the People, and DECA teams. The athletic tradition of MHS is also very strong as evidenced by the fact that many teams have won numerous conference and sectional championships. About St. Paul’s SchoolHistory of St. Paul’s Lutheran School HAMMOND AND MUNSTER St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church began a school four years after organizing the congregation in Hammond, Indiana in 1882. The first school session began in October, 1886 with grades one to eight located in downtown Hammond. A new facility at 5848 Erie Street in Hammond was built in 1920, separate from the church sanctuary. The school building on Erie was closed to be united with the new school and church sanctuary in Munster in 1981. St. Paul’s Lutheran School began with 23 students and reached an enrollment of 250 students during the baby boom of the 60's. The preschool wing was added in the late-90s to accommodate the growing new ministry. Mission of St. Paul’s Lutheran School Together with parents and congregation, we nurture the whole child to become a life-long disciple of Christ.
